The present economic situation leads customers to look for cost-efficient alternatives to full-grown Java applications. Although Java server technology is mature and well optimised, Java application development is often not agile enough. The lack of agility increases costs, but fewer customers are willing to spend that money. Additionally, many of the problems solved with Java could be solved with less complex systems just as well.
For this reason we have decided to extend our offering to customers by including Ruby on Rails. We intend to primarily focus on JRuby as this allows running in Java environments and integrates with Java components.
JRuby on Rails combines the advantages of Java and Rails.
Now that our initial Rails projects went live, we will launch a German portal to share our JRuby experience with the community.
